The selection uses the local best model where the best students in each rural mandal, in each school and in each reservation category are selected and invited for admission. Admission is by invitation only and there is no Entrance Examination. The program consists of a six year integrated curriculum after 10th grade SSC examination leading to a dual degree in IT and a domain specialization. The program uses the learning-by-doing paradigm using personalized mentors and intelligent tutoring systems. Each student is provided a Laptop from the beginning. The goal of Rajiv Gandhi University is to endow each student with an inquiring mind and a thirst for knowledge, based on the maxim "Learning to learn, Learning to think and Learning to live".[original at bolmamabol]http://www.rgukt.in/rgukt/allocation.html.
