A UIC shooting at the student center inside the University of Illinois Chicago happened late today. No injuries are reported. The shooting resulted in police doing a floor by floor search.
University of Illinois at Chicago accidentally discharged his weapon while responding to a report of possible gunfire on the campus this afternoon,
The location: Student Services Building. The time: 2:40 p.m. Witness reports: repeated gun fire shots.

The search sparked by the initial report of gunfire continued into the evening, but Rosati said no evidence of gunshots had been found. The report of "gunfire noise" near the Student Services Building at West Harrison Street and South Racine Avenue came in around 2:40 p.m.
