IMs experiment with technology has gone sour due to computer snag hitting the online conduct of CAT 2009 exam. As per media reports, an unspecified number of centers in six cities reported computer crash. CAT 2009 scheduled for today had to be cancelled, courtesy a technical snag due to the exam server crashing. All the candidates had to be sent back home.
CAT scores determine entry to the IIMs in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Kozhikode and Shillong and host of other institutes which accept CAT score for admission to their Management Programmes, never expected this from the Best B Schools of India. People managing should have understood prior to the exam that there will be large number of students attempting and there could be a problem of overloading. We the student are facing the online CAT for the first time and this kind of news adds to our tension.
