american idol, adam lambert, adam lambert mad world video, mad world, adam lambert april 7. Adam Lambert gave a stunning performance of "Mad World" tonight on American Idol. Adam Lambert's ‘Mad World’ = best song of season? Adam Lambert, 1982, “Mad World”.
"Mad World" is a song by the British band Tears for Fears. Written by Roland Orzabal and sung by bassist Curt Smith, it was the band's third single release and first chart hit, reaching #3 on the UK Singles Chart in November 1982. Both "Mad World" and its b-side, "Ideas As Opiates", would turn up on the band's debut LP The Hurting the following year.
Growing up, he was into books and music and playing dress up – everything but sports.
He was always meant to be a performer.

I really LOVE this. The high notes. Haunting. Strange. Beautiful. He’s really selling me this one. Hot and cold with him and I’m back to hot. I'll forgive that last tricky note.
And his hair looks great! Casual without being slicked back. No makeup (or maybe very little, they all have to cake it up under those lights) too. Not sure about the scarf, but I’ve never been a man-scarf kind of girl.

Simon: The bad news is we’re running out of time. The good news is I’m the only one who’s going to be talking. I think words are unnecessary but I want to give you a standing ovation. (He stands up and does!) reports ‘American Idol’ recap:
Fox will have to rerun the performance Wednesday night during the results show,
Adam Lambert performed Tears for Fears' Mad World on the American Idol 4-07-09. As usual Adam Lambert nailed it that even the cold Simon gave him a standing ovation.
"Mad World" began life as the intended b-side for Tears for Fears' second single "Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love)". The band decided, however, that it may be something people would like to hear on the radio and held back its release, instead waiting to issue the song as a single in its own right after re-recording it with Chris Hughes.
