Tata Housing unveils low-cost housing project
Tata Housing Development Company unveiled its 'Shubh Griha' project on Wednesday, a first of its kind pan-Indian brand to offer low-cost residential properties. Under the project, Tata would be launching its first property in the suburb of Boisar in Mumbai, followed by a pan-Indian presence across tier I and tier II cities. Moreover, the value homes will be priced between Rs 3.9 lakh and Rs 6.7 lakh.
The project will include properties in sizes like small one room kitchen, large one room kitchen and 1BHK. With a balanced mix of buildings and open spaces, these projects will be constructed under the guidance of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
The first township of this nationwide project will be developed in Boisar, with plans to expand into other Tier I and II markets in the country. After the successful launch of low cost car Tata Nano, the Tata Group has come up with another unique scheme that is aimed at the poor and middle class people of India. The booking of the flats will be done via the State Bank of India and allotment will be completed within 15 days.
Common people can't spend Rs. 10 - Rs. 20 lakh to buy a flat in Mumbai.

How to Reach Boisar?Boisar is located 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Virar on the Western Railway line of Mumbai Suburban Railway To reach Boisar, one can catch Shuttle/MEMU trains from Virar. Long Distance trains also stop. By Road, it can be reached from National Highway NH-8, {{convert|22|km|mi} off from Chilhar Phata. There are regular state transport buses from Palghar, Thane, Bhiwandi and Wada. Recently TATA Housing has announced the scheme of 'Nano Housing', for people who cannot afford costly houses in Mumbai, ranging from 3.6 to 7 Lakhs (INR). This is going to be the second Inititative from tata after Nano cars, which would cater to middle to lower class population.
