MFUCTO 6th Pay Commission Maharashtra Univ teachers Strike
Maharashtra Univ teachers to intensify strike from Monday for sixth pay implementation,
Over 30,000 university and college teachers across Maharashtra who are on 'cease to work' strike today said they would intensify their strike from Monday as the state government had not given anything in writing on their demands including implementation of sixth pay panel.
"We will intensify our 18-day-old strike, from August 3 as nothing has been given in writing to the Maharashtra Federation of University and College teachers organisation (MFUCTO) on 6th Pay Commission as well as other demands," Federation's Secretary, Prof Tapati Mukhopadhyay told.
During the implementation of 5th Pay commission, the government had given in writing the details to the Federation and this time inspite of spending over 25 hours during the past few days, government has not come out with anything in writing.
Meanwhile, Principal secretary Education J S Saharia said, teachers are aware of the difficulties in resolving the issues and there is no UGC notification.
The government will also consider further action without elaborating it.

Government of Maharashtra should end the College teachers strike with proper agreement. Teachers are forced by the government of come on street. It is not fair. For the sake of educational development UGC declared Pay package to College teachers.Problems of NET/SET affected teachers should be solved as it is in the hands of government of Maharashtra. Request to end the strike as early as possible.
dear Mr. CM, why dont you look into the strike of our teachers? you have solved the problem of all state govt employee in few hrs then why this strike is four weeks long? Other than we, the student, who else is the sufferer? on behalf of all students i request you to look into the matter personally.
Government is not being fare to the students community by not paying UGC scales.
This will result is repelling good students to be teachers in future also.
NET-SET is an idea not to give permanant positions to the teachers as the % passing is in GOVT hands. Why GOVT is not reapecting their own degrees. Instead they can ask candidates to give lectures which can be assessed by a commitee. NETSET eligibility depends upon cast too. It is lower for the reservation? If it is for the quality then why it is compramised with the cast?
Best students should be attracted to be teachers. So the salaries should be the best and better than administrators/clerks
There should be incentive for research and innovations also, in the pay scales
Something to say?
