The train has started moving. It was packed with people of all ages,
mostly with the working men and women and young college guys and gals.
Near the window, seated a old man with his 30 year old son. As the train
moves by, the son is overwhelmed with joy as he was thrilled with the
scenery outside..

" See dad, the scenery of green trees moving away is very beautiful"

This behavior from a thirty year old son made the other people feel
strange about him. Every one started murmuring something or other about
this son."This guy seems to be a krack.." newly married Anup whispered to
his wife.

Suddenly it started raining... Rain drops fell on the travelers through
the opened window. The Thirty year old son , filled with joy " see dad,
how beautiful the rain is ..."

Anup's wife got irritated with the rain drops spoiling her new suit.

Anup ," cant you see its raining, you old man, if ur son is not feeling
well get him soon to a mental asylum..and dont disturb public henceforth"

The old man hesitated first and then in a low tone replied " we are on the
way back from hospital, my son got discharged today morning , he was a
blind by birth, last week only he got his vision, these rain and nature
are new to his eyes.. Please forgive us for the inconvenience caused..."

The things we see may be right from our perspective until we know the
truth. But when we know the truth our reaction to that will hurt even us.
So try to understand the problem better before taking a harsh action.

Superb article comparing fuel facts in IND and USA

Population Vs fuel consumption
America accounts for a mere 5 percent (300 million) of the world's population, but consumes an unfair amount of the world's total fuel production. 44 percent. On the other hand India accounts to 20 percent of the world's population (5 times America's population) and consumes only 4 percent of the world's production of fuel.

Number of Cars and other vehicles
American has over 270 million passeger cars and trucks, 12.9 million recreational boats and 6.2 million motorcycles. (833.34 cars per 1,000 people)

India has only 9.17 million passenger vehicles vehicles, a few hundred recreational boats and 7 million motorcycles. (7 cars per 1,000 people)

Average Cars
The average car in America is at least 3,000 cc and runs on a V-6 engine (6 cylinder)
The average Indian car (Maruti 800) runs on a 800 cc, 3 cylinder engine.

Average Fuel efficiency
America's vehicles return an average fuel efficiency of 17.1 miles per gallon.
Indian cars return an average fuel efficiency of 35.65 miles per gallon.

Fuel consumption
America consumes over 92,53,000 barrels per day (388.6 million gallons per day)
India consumes only 38.8 million gallons a day.

Most Fuel Efficient car in America
Toyota Prius - powered by two engines churning out a mammoth 145 horsepower, this car returns a fuel efficiency of 46 miles per gallon.

Most Fuel Efficient Car in India
Tata Nano - powered by a small 650 cc engine, churns out a decent 30 horsepower and returns a superb 54 miles per gallon.

Greenhouse Gas emission
America - 1,559 metric tonnes
India - 250 metric tonnes

Here is the biggest punch. Everyone in the world says India is a dirty country. But who generates most trash in the world? It is the world's self-appointed policeman and big brother AMERICA.

Per capita Garbage/ solid waste generated per year
US - 230 million tons (about 4.5 pounds per person per day)
India - 18 million tons of trash. If we were to calculate the amount of solid wastes generated by individuals in India it would be abysmally low.

I am really glad I attended the panel discussion and made people aware of the reality. Perhaps it will lead them to think about the future of the world and probably one of them may decide to buy a smaller car.

Don't wear ID cards out of the campus!!!!!!!!!! plz don't ignore especially Indian software engineers

Most important thing is that, please keep your company ID card inside the pocket / Purse and do not show it outside people once you come out from the company premises. Otherwise it is the primary identification that you are IT Tech guy and they may follow you.
Many IT guys are going outside with their Company ID and that leads the identification of Software Engineer to the external world.
Friends,
This is to draw your attention to the increasing crime rate in Bombay, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad. In the recent past the crime rate has grown like mad and the targets are none other than we guys THE SOFTWARE PROFESSIONALS and CALL CENTER.
They know that we are one who has the following valuables -MOBILE PHONES, BIKES, WATCH'S, CAR, MONEY. Believe me they don't even spare SHOES. We had some past experiences with our employees not personally but have heard people lost valuable things and also heard some lost their lives or become handicapped. These people were attacked when they were coming back from work or when they were traveling late at night; People with knifes, swords, guns attack in groups of 3 - 4 or may be even more .Another trick that they use is to tie GI metal strings in the middle of the roads and when some one crashes because of it they loot them .Lets us not fall into this trap .Please take precaution and make sure no one loses anything coz we work in the nights and for a better tomorrow - let us make sure that we see that tomorrow.
Some tips to avoid these situations--

1. Avoid using bikes in the night while coming to office and while going back from office late night.
2. Try going in groups when you have late night plans.
3. Avoid taking ladies along with you in the night.
4. Make sure you wear a helmet coz that can avoid you from a serious crash on your head.
5. Avoid using short cuts to reach home like roads without street lights and also sad and scary roads.
6. Make sure you carry all your documents when you are going out in the night coz that will avoid you taking a short cut home trying to avoid the cops.
7. Inform (clearly) your family when you are leaving home and also inform your friends where you will be and which way you are coming and as well avoid meeting people in remote places.
8. Avoid giving drops, lifts to people whom you don't know and also to people when are traveling in the nights.
9. If at all you are coming to work by bike make sure you inform your manager that you are coming by bike and the time that you will reach there so that at least your manager can keep a track of you and the time.
10. Make sure you inform the police if you see anything unusual or people moving around suspiciously.
11. If there is a fight happening on the road please avoid it and if you see a accident help the person , then immediately leave or inform the police and make sure you did your part remove the perception that you will be in trouble if you inform the police but remember do not involve completely.
12. Avoid stopping the vehicle if people are trying to stop you avoid the route and go by another place
13. Avoid unnecessary arguments with people and especially with auto drivers and tempo drivers.
14. Scream and shout on top of your voice to draw others attention/help
15. Carry some chili power/pepper powder or even a divider (remember yr campus box, and throw on the attacker to temporarily immobilize him. These are allowed to be carried under self defense act. If not anything just give the attacker a hard blow/ throw him off balance.
16. Finally make sure you are always at reach, keep your cell phone on and in ringer mode.

Tragic!!

While people are being forced to kill themselves like in this case

Our morally conscious politicians are busy grappling with "urgent" issues

Got a mail response from one of my friend. read on

In recent time I have been to Vidharbha
where it was said that farmers were committing suicide I visited 1 such farmer in Warud. He owned about 40 acres. He gave a clear picture about how plantations worked and how alternately each half year crops were rotated. amongst different stretches of land and how he has managed to maximize utility and output even in times of drought which varieties of seeds used and how they got them

When i asked this gentle man about why farmers committed suicide
he said not everyone who committed suicide was a farmer but drunken people who wasted their money and time on alcohol rather than tilling lands and were left penniless due to addiction,

Again a contradiction came within Amravati city where I was on an en route to catch a train to Mumbai
A rickshaw driver who claimed to be a Farmer earlier claimed that the output was insufficient to feed his family and he was forced to sell his land and drive a rickshaw to earn a living and a better income.

Also I can give you an example of (Marathi) Farmers in Dharwar where they have successfully used and planted high yielding varieties of Moong and cotton even natural colored cotton.

Also I visited Konkan recently and observed that there are vast tracts of land owned by lesser educated farmers who did not rotate the crops in alternately and ended up in acres of worthless land.

As far as Press reporters go
They do not go down to the crust and investigate as they simply sit in Air Conditioned offices and print and report what ever they like and do precious little to go out and educate farmers on modern developments in their own state where high yeilding varieties of seeds are developed Water conservation etc

and when such an incident occurs they give it such an importance without even verifying the credentials of the story

By this I do not mean to say that what happened may have been fake but this also cant be ruled out altogether

Getting rich Royal way..

The seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan was the fifth richest man to ever walk on the world, as per the Forbes list of 2008.

The Nizam’s worth has been estimated by Forbes to be around $210.8 billion, if his riches are adjusted to the present value of the dollar. The world’s richest man living, Bill Gates pales in comparison, as he is worth only $56 billion!

At the peak of his “earning” period in 1936, Osman Ali Khan’s worth was estimated to be $2 billion. This was when the Nizam had completed a quarter century as the ruler of Hyderabad state and tales of his riches had travelled far and wide.

Article source

Mir Osman Ali Khan, who had been conferred the title of His Exalted Highness by the British the only Indian prince to be given this status, presided over Hyderabad state which at that time sprawled across 2,23,000 square km or the present size of Great Britain.

His territories spread over present day Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra and what is interesting is that his private estates (jagirs, also called sarf-i-khas land) accounted for a significant 30 per cent of this land mass.

The Nizam was not rich merely because he excelled in the art of money making. He also inherited much riches from his father. This included jewellery, pearls, kilos of uncut diamonds, tonnes of bullion, and huge quantity of currency notes.

Interesting to note when Mir Osman Ali Khan became the ruler of Hyderabad in 1911, the state treasury was nearly bankrupt, his father Mahbub Ali Pasha being profligate.

But that was the state of the state; the personal wealth of the Nizams accumulated through six generations remained intact.

The Nizams had inherited the state from the Mughals who had conquered it from the Qutub Shahis who ruled from Golcanda .

Included in their territories were the world famous Golconda mines that yielded big size diamonds.

The Nizam established their rule at a time when the Mughal empire was collapsing and north India was in turmoil.

Nadir Shah had sacked and pillaged Delhi and stripped the capital of its riches but it is possible that the first Nizam was able to make away with some riches from the Capital.

In the subsequent decades even as the Nizams became big players in the South, they made their pile from various conquests of local rajas or deals with even bigger chieftains like Hyder Ali, the father of Tipu Sultan.

Whose Riches Are It, Anyway?

Even as the heirs of the Nizam, the Government of India and the Pakistani government get set to settle the issue of £30 million lying in a bank account in NatWest Bank in London, the question is whose money is it anyway?

As is known, the money was put in the account of the Pakistan’s high commissioner to London, Habib Ibrahim Rahimatoola by the Nizam’s finance minister Mir Nawaz Jung. At that time September 1948 - the cash deposited was merely one million pounds.

Though shrouded in mystery the money was probably sent abroad to be used for lobbying for an independent Hyderabad state. With many claimants the sum in question was frozen in spite of strenuous efforts by Mir Osman Ali Khan during his life time to get it back.

The representatives of Osman Ali Khan’s grandson Mukarram Jah who was annointed as the Nizam after him are said to have been instrumental in convincing the Government of India to agree to come to the negotiating table.

Mukarram’s belief is that as the officially recognised heir of Osman Ali Khan, he should be the beneficiary of the £30 million.

But the other progeny of the Nizam and the progeny of this progeny - who total some four hundred, have other ideas.

With Hyderabad state now abolished and there being no Nizam, they say that the riches should be distributed in accordance with the provisions of the Muslim personal law.

However, some analysts say that the money transferred was that of the Hyderabad state and did not belong to Mir Osman Ali Khan’s sarf-i-khas . Therefore , there is no question of the money going to the heirs of the Nizam.

But irrespective of this issue, doesn’t the manner in which Osman Ali Khan made his money, morally oblige the Indian government to ask for the entire moolah for the people of Hyderabad?

Oneness Temple Consecration Function Called Off

Wanted to get this information across to all of you'll eagerly waiting to hear about the Incidents at Golden City.

Expected crowd was max 200,000 per day, but an estimated 880000 people were at the venue and by early afternoon message was given to postpone the darshan until further notice keeping in mind the safety of the devotees.

This information is from devotees who attended.

Consequence of the unexpected crowd:

The roads are all blocked for kms together, people and vehicles have filled space of upto 100 villages nearby

Temple doors and other structures were damaged by crowd.

One family who were fortunate to get Darshan by 11:00 am, it took them till 5:00 pm to come out of temple premises.

To my knowledge 22,23 was not reserved for any section of India so this kind of crowd on first day meant much more could arrive on later days.

Everyone is strongly adviced to cancel their trips till further information reaches them.

The event was too much of a success to handle.

News source :-
Nellore, April 22: At least three persons including a Sri Lankan national were killed and dozens injured in a stampede at the inauguration of godman Kalki Bhagwan’s Oneness University at Varadayapalem in Chittoor district on Tuesday. A scramble for water among thirsty devotees led to the incident during a function to which over 1 lakh people had congregated.

People injured in the stampede blamed the organisers of the event for failing to make proper arrangements to accommodate the huge crowd. The week-long inaugural, for which invitations with schedules were sent to devotees all over the country, was expected to attract several lakhs of people.
A forest range officer, Srinivasa Rao, 48, of Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district, Govindaiah, 63, of Vijayanagaram, and Subramanyam Satirlingam, 58, from Jaffna in Sri Lanka, were killed in the stampede. Several people were seriously injured and have been admitted at the government hospital at Tada.

Eyewitnesses said there was complete chaos at the ashram run by Kalki Bhagwan alias V. Vijayakumar and his wife Bhagvati Amma alias V. Padmavati, after the massive throng of devotees who had turned up for a darshan of the couple broke a long queue and tried to find their way out. The devotees, who were made to wait for hours without water in stifling heat, panicked when they could not find any exit, leading to a melee in the temple garden near the university.

“They invited us to our deaths,” said Mr Himagiri Babu, the son of one of the injured, Mr Eswar Rao.
“The devotees reached the Oneness University at around 8 am and were made to stand in a queue till 1 pm,” Mr Babu told this correspondent. “We tried to get out of the place but could not find out way out. The volunteers and security personnel did not bother to help us.” They said VIPs were given darshan immediately. Other devotees waited for a long time only to be told, at around 1 pm, that the Kalki Bhagwan and Bhagvati Amma had stopped giving darshan. The Chittoor SP, Mr K. Lakshmi Reddy, said several devotees suffered sunstroke because the ashram management did not supply drinking water to them.

“The ashram was asked to ensure that water was supplied to the devotees,” Mr Reddy said. “They reneged on their promise to have 3,000 volunteers supplying water sachets.” The Chittoor collector, Mr M. Ravichandra, who said the Kalki ashram had been advised to avoid hosting a large number of devotees, directed the tahsildar of the area to the site of the incident to provide help to the injured.

The Varadayapalem inspector, Mr Venkata Narayana, ruled out the possibility of more casualties and said the situation is under control. The police has stopped all buses from entering the ashram and the ashram authorities have decided to cut the inaugural to a one-day event. Vijayakumar, a former LIC clerk who proclaimed himself to be Kalki Bhagwan or the tenth avatar of Vishnu, has ashrams and properties spread across the state and in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. He ordained his wife Padmavati as the goddess Bhagvati Amma.

Second, Sonia was not born in Orbassano as she claims in her bio data submitted to Parliament on becoming MP, but in Luciana as stated in her birth certificate.

Third, Sonia Gandhi has not studied beyond High School.

I Vote Nobody

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O"
that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it.
This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know...
Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

Use your voting right for a better INDIA.

positive attitude

Posted In: . By Bhagwat

A Native American boy was talking with his grandfather.
"What do you think about the world situation?" he asked.
The grandfather replied, "I feel like wolves are fighting in my heart.
One is full of anger and hatred; the other is full of love, forgiveness, and peace."
"Which one will win?" asked the boy.
To which the grandfather replied, "The one I feed."
(Origin Unknown)

This simple story provides the essence of a life-changing law of the universe.

You become what you think about.

The words are almost too simple to "feel important."
However, if you "get it," if you truly understand their meaning, you can forever harness the power of a positive attitude.

Simply stated, if we choose to think positive thoughts, we'll get positive results; if we think negative thoughts, we'll get negative results. Pretend for a moment that every thought is a seed you sow in your fertile mind.

You will reap the fruit of the thoughts you sow.

Success is never final and failure never fatal. It's courage that counts.

I use auto at least once in a day, I am living in Hyderabad from last five years, I had quite good experiences and observations, thought of sharing with you.

After Installing Digital meters on All Autos in the pearl city- Hyderabad, I faced same problems like before installing digital meters, even this time problems list is more.

Previous observation with Analog metes
-- For the same distance your travel by different autos, your fare is different, it varies from 4-7 rupees as difference.
-- On traffic signals some analog meters runs faster than other meters. If you ask auto driver that your meter is running fast, you get good answers and explanations also.

Current observations with Digital meters
Recently I had friendly chat with one Auto driver (of course for that chat I had paid more than usual.).

-- problem of fare change with same distance is still there.
-- you get one more explanations most of time is "My digital meter is not working"
-- bargain for the fare and you end up paying more.

Got some interesting points to be noted before you hire a Auto.
-- Ask Auto driver that you will hire auto only if he is ready to go by meter.
-- Here is a catch, if he is ready in first cut, check his meter. If you see some cap on his meter, then it is sure that, meter is damaged and you pay more than before.
-- Most of Auto driver are opting this option to damage the meter and reload new software in it, it costs Rs. 1000/- for them. If you see meter seal is damaged do not opt for going by meter, better opt for fix the fair first and then hire, else go for other loyal auto. I paid double the amount for same distance which I used to travel.

Still there are some auto who are loyal and do not have damaged meters. These loyal auto drivers do not need to put a black cap on their digital meters.

If one tries to wear hat of auto driver and think,
-Digital meter installation demand for battery, which costs around Rs. 1000 to 1200/-
-Digital meter installation, which costs around 2000 to 4000/-
-with compulsion of digital meters in city, All auto drivers had cut their bread butter and paid Rs 3000/- as minimum installation charges for digital meters. There is no return on this investment.
As a human, I expect some return on it. Most of them are opting to pay some more 1000 bucks and are changing their softwares. I wonder This modification is not known to city traffic police.

This is conversion from one auto driver and my observations.

Please share your observations and experiences also.

Also in news.
