The candidates have to be subjected to Police Verification to find out their character and antecedents by the Director General of Police, Chennai-4. As it is laid down in the rules that the appointing authority concerned has to satisfy himself about the character and antecedent of the candidates, the responsibility of police verification of the candidates rests with the Heads of the Departments concerned. The candidates who suppress facts in the Police Verification roll would be summarily rejected.
